One if by land, two if by sea. An appropriate phrase because the first book in the Ennek trilogy, Stasis, took place primarily on land, in the city-state of Praesidium. But now in Flux, Ennek has freed Miner from a terrible punishment and from slavery, and the two of them have fled by sea. They’re going to end up ashore again eventually—after a run-in with some pirates. Although the element of air will prove important in this book, Flux is largely quite nautical. So it’s appropriate that I was on a ship when I finished writing it. What kind of adventures do you prefer—land or sea?
