Review: Chrysalis Corporation

Nicole, a NetGalley and Goodreads reviewer, shares her thoughts on T.A. Venedicktov's new "Chrysalis Corporation".

This has the makings of an epic scifi adventure. The world is an interesting mix of future scifi expansion with a touch of old world Greek religion. It's a place where a corporation is stronger than any government and people are as much or more of a commodity than of value for just being human. And what does it mean to be human? Or a slave? That's the question for the life of Cores, the sentient cybernetic creations owned by the corporation. The book follows a backwater miner moving up to be a high level fighter and the relationship with his Core - his fighting partner, best friend, and more. The Core's personality and questioning are reminiscent of a solid INTJ personality, making them relatable but also awkward with the lack of social understanding. It's a beautiful journey of growth and connection, and I can't wait for the next one.
